I have had the privilege of spending the last 25 years of my life on this paradise island that we call home. My two children were both born here. Marco Island has allowed me to grow and mature as a person and allowed myself, my wife, and my children to prosper. I have had the opportunity to coach high school sports and mold the minds of future generations. I have served on the Marco Island Waterways Advisory Committee helping to draft much-needed ordinances to ensure that we can service our over 100 miles of sea walls and also ensure the protection of our environmentally sensitive waterways. I have partnered with the City of Marco and First Responders to promote boating and bicycle safety. I have had the privilege of becoming a Fellowship of Christian Athletes coach and mentor. As a small business owner, I have the privilege of employing approximately 30 high school and college students. As a fiscal conservative, I will work hard to keep government small, taxes low, and I will work twice as hard to ensure our island remains the paradise that it is today. I promise to be civil, open-minded and receptive to the needs of the community. Simply put, I want to give back to this community that has given so much to me and my family.
"We need to come together as a community without attacking each other. We all live here together, and while it’s ok to passionately debate our beliefs, we must do it with kindness, common sense and the ability to listen to each other’s needs in order to work out our differences." -Darrin Palumbo
